Why funeral directors use it
Families often ask the funeral home to help them tell everyone. A typed message gets forwarded with small changes, and the funeral home ends up answering the same questions. When you make the invitation video with the details you already confirmed, the time and address are right, and every guest receives the same message.
Making it with the family
You can build the video during the arrangement conference or right after it. Fill in the name, dates, service time and place, and any reception. Ask the family for a photo they like, ideally the original file. Choose a calm background together, and music or silence. The preview updates as you go, so the family can see it take shape.
The review link
Before anything is paid or shared, you can send the family a link to watch the video. They can check the spelling of the name, the dates and the times. When they are happy, you finish the video. This step prevents surprises and gives the family a sense of control at a hard time.
Your logo and closing card
A funeral home can add its logo, which appears at the end of the video. It is a quiet way to show who cared for the family, without advertising on the main message.
Colleagues in one account
Invite colleagues to the same account, so anyone on the team can open, correct or resend a video. Small fixes after payment are free, which matters when a time changes at the last minute. The corrected version can go out in the same thread; see how to share a funeral invitation video.
Price and data
Each finished video is $199 total, one time, with no subscription. Data is stored in the European Union under the GDPR. Details are in funeral invitation video pricing.
What it does not do
This tool makes short invitation and announcement videos. It does not make long memorial slideshows, track RSVPs or run livestreams. If a family asks for a tribute video for the service, see slideshow vs invitation video. To get started, read how to make a funeral invitation video.
Giving the family the files
After you finish the video, you can share it directly with the family or send them the files and the share page link. Families usually forward it themselves to their own group texts and contacts. The share page is useful to hand over because it always shows the latest version, with directions and add to calendar.
How long it takes
With the arrangement details at hand, building the video usually takes a few minutes. The longest part is often choosing the photo, which the family may want to do at home. You can save the preview, send the review link once they have sent the photo, and finish it when they approve.
Handling changes
Times and places change, sometimes on the day before the service. Because small fixes after payment are free, you can correct the video as soon as the change is confirmed and send the new file. The share page updates to the latest version, so anyone who opens the link sees the right time. A short note to the family about the correction keeps everyone aligned.
Data and privacy
Video projects, photos and details are stored in the European Union under the GDPR. Families' data is not used for anything other than making their video. Only the people you invite to your account can see your projects. If you want to see the result before using it with a family, build a preview with fictional details and watch it on your phone. It costs nothing.
Before handing over
